Electrical PT&I Technician

Responsibilities:
Ensuring your personal safety, the safety of coworkers and customers is a primary duty; an obligation as a CMOE employee.
Supports the Maintenance Services group by testing the availability of utilities, preventive maintenance and overall support to the electrical systems support and electrical distribution system.
Performs a variety of electrical trade functions such as the installation, maintenance or repair of equipment for the generation, distribution or utilization of electric energy.
Work involves most of the following:
installing or repairing a variety of electrical equipment such as generators, transformers, switchboards, controllers, circuit breakers, motors, heating units, conduit systems or other transmission equipment; working from blueprints, drawings, layouts or other specifications; locating and diagnosing trouble in the electrical system or equipment; working standard computations relating to load requirements of wiring or electrical equipment; using a variety of electrician's hand tools and measuring and testing.
Work will include additional duties as assigned.

Eight years of experience or any equivalent combination of experience and training in a designated field, craft or trade that can be documented by a certificate or diploma from a reputable organization, school or trade school program.
Must be Virginia state licensed, journeyman level worker.
Must be able to effectively communicate with others.
This is a three (3) step position.

Essential Functions:
Work EnvironmentTest environment-May be exposed to areas of high noise levels, hazardous propellants, explosives, chemicals and industrial facilities (90%).
Travel between various facilities and during test operations required and may bring exposure to loud noise and potentially hazardous equipment operations (15%)Physical RequirementsVisual and physical (hands on) contact of test related systems, hardware and articles.
Must be able to walk, stand, bend, twist and sit for extended periods as well as climb, crawl, and lift up to 35 lbs (100%).
Ability to distinguish basic colors (10%).
Corrected vision and hearing at all times (100%)Must be able to use the following:
Platform or A-frame ladders up to 12 Ft (30%)Extension ladders up to 24 Ft (10%)Personal or one man aerial lifts up to 30 Ft.
(10%)Articulating or boom aerial lifts up to 35 Ft.
(10%)Equipment and MachinesWill use hand tools/power tools/mechanical/electrical control devices.
(40%) Control room test operation display/keyboards/mechanical/electrical control devices (20%).
Personal computers and related equipment (10%).
Safety and personal protective equipment (50%).

Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk/hazard to the employee or others.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance as required.
CMOE maintenance employees will exercise diligence when developing a Safe Plan of Action (SPA) for each task performed.
Your SPA is a Company provided tool to be used for the prevention of incidents, accidents and injuries; as such, it is the most important tool that you are required to use.
