30am Rotating every other weekend offSince 1971, Hampton-Newport News Community Services Board has provided a comprehensive continuum of high-quality, essential, and community-based services to citizens of the Peninsula who are affected by mental illness, developmental disabilities, and substance use disorders.
The Regional Crisis Stabilization Unit (RCSU) is licensed by the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services (DBHDS) for Crisis Stabilization Services, providing a 24 hour residential alternative to acute psychiatric hospitalization.
Delivers nursing care to individuals with mental illness and co-occurring disorders at the Regional Crisis Stabilization Center (RCSC).
Assists a staff psychiatrist in the prescription, administration and monitoring of client medications; performs client assessments and other medically based treatment services and provides crisis and supportive counseling.
This includes providing initial nursing assessments of individual health and mental status, analyzing data to determine medical and nursing care as needed, planning a treatment strategy to meet identified needs, and evaluating responses to nursing and medical interventions.
Provides oversight for medication management.

Registered Nurse withone (1) year of behavioral health experience.
Candidate will register to practice as a QMHP-A trainee within the first 30 days of employment.
The selected candidate must successfully pass a criminal history fingerprint background investigation, Child Registry search, drug screening test and employment reference checks.
