2nd Shift - Production Supervisor - Newport News

We have a very exciting opportunity for a Production Supervisor to join this legacy company and the primary purpose of this position is to relieve production and shipping supervisors, and lab analysts.
Supervise plant processing, receiving, packaging, and shipping staff in order to maintain plant inventory levels.
Verify and validate activities are completed per SOP.
This position reports to the Production Manager and will have 30-40 production employees (entire production operation).
RESPONSIBILITIESoDirect staff on shift to efficiently perform tasks in a safe manner.
oAssists Department Managers with execution and evaluation of practices in order to drive Continuous Improvement.
oAnalyze equipment related issues and other problems, and effectively communicate issues between maintenance and other staff.
oInspect incoming and outgoing goods to ensure quality and accuracy standards are met.
oMonitor packaging, ingredient, and finished product inventories to ensure needs are met.
oMonitor and enforce sanitation instructions, activities, and verification.
oMonitor and enforce Plant GMP SOPs oAbility to become certified by the State of Maryland in the operation of CHARM antibiotic testing equipment.
This activity requires annual recertification.
oAbility to perform sensory testing on finished products.
oDocument activities in accordance with SOP, State, and Federal guidelines.
oOversee and evaluate training of new staff members.
oSchedule and/or cover staff vacancies as needed per SOP.
oCommunicate effectively with all levels of management and other departments.
oMust be available to work any shift, day and/or night.
REQUIREMENTSoCollege education:
Bachelor's degree in a business, science, or engineering field preferredo1-2 years or more of food manufacturing operational leadership experience.
oDairy experience desired but not mandatory.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
oAble to be flexible at times with hours worked.
oAbility to work independently and function as a team player.
oAbility to help lead operations in achieving key objectives and goals.
oMust be able to work with minimal supervision independently or with a group.
oDemonstrate reliability through good attendance and work ethic.
oHighly organized and detail oriented.
oProficiency with MS Word and MS Excel.
oExcellent oral and written communication skills.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
