Job Description:

This position will remain open until filled.
The Advisor's primary role will be onboarding and supporting students in G3 (Get Skilled, Get a Job, Give Back) credit and noncredit programs.
The advisor serves as a resource to assist individuals in overcoming non-academic barriers that may affect their ability to complete their educational goals successfully.
This includes communicating regularly with students, maintaining records of student outreach and other interactions, making connections to available college and community support services, and assisting with academic interventions when necessary And performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Required:
o Experience in advising students.
A commitment to diversity issues concerning student access, enrollment, and retention.
Knowledge:
Knowledge of best practices in academic advising, student development and student learning outcomes.
Knowledge of different G3 degree programs offered by the institution, including the specific requirements for each major.
Knowledge of usage of data and analytics to identify patterns and trends in student performance.
This data helps them make informed decisions about how to best support individual students and improve advising programs.
Knowledge of academic advising theories that promote proactive and persistent engagement with students to support their academic success.
General knowledge of office systems, practices, and administration.
Skills:

Works effectively within an ethnic, cultural, and socially diverse student population.
Interprets and administers federal and state policies and procedures.

Conducts detailed analysis of program issues and concerns and makes recommendations as appropriate while exercising decision making, judgment and discretion.
Analyzes and evaluates procedures and work methods and exercises appropriate judgment in establishing priorities and work methods.
Delivers student services and referrals to other partner services and/or agencies.
Displays leadership qualities and characteristics necessary for developing effective working relationships with students/customers, partner agencies, partner staff and other community individuals and groups.
Ability to provide services to prospective students including non-credit training preparedness, academic advising, registration and enrollment, counseling and possibly student activities.
Works with students/customers who are frustrated, angry and/or confused; diffuses the situation and provides the student with a positive experience.
Preferred
Qualifications:
Work experience in a higher education setting.
Knowledge of PeopleSoft, Navigate, and other educational technologies.
Familiar with creating and/or using forms, surveys, brochures, and record-keeping procedures.
Recommended Skills Administration Communication Consulting Data Analysis Decision Making Ethics Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
