Unisys Corporation at the NASA Langley Research Center in Hampton, VA is seeking a Software Engineer to join our team. The Software Engineers on the Langley Simulation and Aircraft Technical Services contract design, develop, test, and operate air and space vehicle simulations in object-oriented C++, including graphics programming using OpenSceneGraph and OpenGL. The primary development environment is on Linux platforms using the Scientific Linux operating system, although some development is performed for a Windows platform. The Software Engineer will design, develop, modify, and maintain simulation software using software engineering best practices and standards, participate in design and code reviews, and adhere to existing processes and procedures for full life-cycle software development. This organization is also a software supplier for flight tests where software tested in the simulation environment is used for research projects in flight on NASA Langley''s manned and unmanned aircraft. The simulation facility consists of a six-degree-of-freedom motion base, four full-sized simulator cockpits, two fighter cockpits inside 40-foot diameter spheres, and a multi-purpose re-configurable test and evaluation simulator. Must be a US citizen and able to obtain a Secret clearance.
Specific Job Responsibilities/Outcomes
Model and apply software engineering methods and techniques to the design, develop, integrate and qualify and/or support of the products and tools within one or more areas of expertise. Work independently or cooperatively as a member of a team. Often assume technical and project leadership roles.

- Specific technical skill requirements include proficiency in demonstrating/performing one or more skills in each technical skill group 2-5 Years of Experience preferred
Education Requirements
BS in Aeronautical Engineering/Computer Science or related degree and relevant experience
