We are currently seeking aSurvey Crew Chiefto join our Survey Department in our Hampton Roads,VA office location.
Essential duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Collects all data for boundaries, location, topographical and design surveys.
Operates total station, level, RTK GPS Receiver and data collectors in performance of field surveys.
Calculates and turns deflection angles on curves and figures distance to points along curve.
Establishes and sets points on construction stakeout projects (curb and gutter, drop inlets, storm sewer, sanitary sewer, waterline, bridges, etc.).
Conducts daily maintenance and up-keep of instruments.
Makes sketches and records measurements to indicate exact location of horizontal and vertical control points.
Assists in the maintenance of survey equipment, supplies and vehicle.
Candidate must be able to work in a team environment, and also be willing to work independently on occasion.
Must be able to obtain and hold a federal security clearance.
Candidate will work in a drug free environment and will have to submit to an initial screening.
Education and/or Experience
High school diploma/GED and five (5) years of field survey experience.
Must have experience with Leica Robotic Total Stations.
Experience with DOT and transportation survey a plus.
Experience with Leica RTK GPS systems
Ability to collect field data in an organized, neat and professional manner for various boundary, topographic, design and construction staking projects.
PLS/SIT preferred but not required.
The ability to compute, process and map field data will provide the right candidate opportunity and advancement.
AutoCAD experience preferred.
A validVA driver license and a good driving record required.
Must be willing to travel on occasion.
